Audio Engineering at Synoptic Sounds
Synoptic Sounds provides a variety of audio engineering services, including studio recording, live recording, and live sound reinforcement. We also provide consulting services for professional studio and live sound system design and operation. Our recording studio is a mobile, modular, expandable, MIDI based studio, incorporating some of the newest technologies in the professional audio field. Our primary engineer, Lloyd Minthorne, has had extensive experience as a professional audio engineer since 1984, graduated magna cum laude from The College for Recording Arts in 1987, and is a current member of the Audio Engineering Society. Audio engineering is an art as well as a science. Not only must the engineer understand and be able to operate the equipment effectively, but also the engineer should be able to understand the particular type of sound or feeling that the artist is trying to create, and help them bring it to life through a variety of means. Creating the right environment for a recording session is a big factor as to how it’s going to sound, and making the artists feel comfortable, both physically and emotionally, is at least as important as the technical considerations. At Synoptic Sounds, we take all of these factors into consideration, and this is why we have so many happy clients.
